The US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi today accused law enforcement chief of the Attorney General Bill Barr of committing crimes against the Congress, allowing President Trump and investigating him. Democrats are heating up.
Agence France-Presse reported that the House Judiciary Committee is eager to investigate how Barr handled a special investigation by Robert Mueller, who was interviewed by Russia in the 2016 US election, but Barr avoided the scheduled hearing. Therefore, letting Luo Xixi make this rare accusation against him, the angry Democratic Party immediately threatened to control him to despise the Congress.
Bar, who took office in February, had a sharp question in the Republican-led Senate yesterday. Democrats accused him of preserving Trump and covering up the truth of the Muller report.
However, Barr did not appear in the hearing of the House Judiciary Committee today because the chairman of the committee had previously announced that the committee members would ask the lawyer to cross-examine after questioning him.
Barr’s absence apparently angered Lost, who accused Bar of misleading members of Congress.
Luo Xixi said: “He lied to Congress, this is a crime.” This statement seems to mean that Bar went to Congress to testify in April.
At the hearing, Barr declared that he did not know whether Muller supported his controversial memo summing up the report and said that he did not know why members of the Muller team were disappointed with the report summary. However, the April 30 report pointed out that Barr had already received a letter from Muller on March 27 to express disappointment, but still said at the hearing that he did not know.
“If other people do this, then it will be considered a crime. No one can override the law, the US president cannot, and the Minister of Justice cannot.”
Jerrold Nadler, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, threatened to control Bar’s contempt of Congress, arguing that he refused to request an unmodified full-fledged Muller report.
