Former Vietnamese President Li Deying died in Hanoi on April 22 and enjoys life as 99 years old. The Vietnamese government today held a funeral ceremony for him during the two-day state funeral ceremony. The government agencies and public places in the country halved the flag.

Le Duc Anh was born in Hue, Central Province in 1920. He participated in the revolutionary activities of the Communist Party of Vietnam in his early years and was involved in the anti-French campaign. During the Vietnam War against US, Li Deying served as the chief of staff of the Southern Command of the Vietnamese People’s Army and the deputy commander of the Southern Command. He also served as commander of the Southwest Army and commander of the Cambodian Volunteers in Cambodia.

Li Deying served as the president of the country from 1992 to 1997, during which he made a significant contribution to improving relations between Vietnam and the United States and China. After retiring from office in 1997, Li Deying retired as a consultant to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Li Deying’s farewell ceremony was held at 7:00 am at the National Funeral Home in Hanoi, and was broadcast live by the Vietnamese state-run television station VTV1. In addition to senior Vietnamese government officials, representatives of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and Sakysomphone Phomvihane, the central chairman of the founding father-in-chief of the country, attended.

Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh introduced the life of Li Deying in a farewell style, affirmed his contribution in various positions, and pointed out that the death of Li Deying was a great loss for the party, the government and the people.

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the government, the National Assembly, and the relevant ministries and other teams then took turns to express their grief to Li Deying.

In addition, Li Deying’s tribute to the farewell ceremony was also held in conjunction with the Hue Provincial Government Hall in Ho Chi Minh City. All government agencies and public places in Vietnam have halved their flags today, hang their black yarns and mourn Li Deying. Public entertainment and entertainment are also suspended in public places and TV stations.

Li Deying Ling Ling will be moved to Ho Chi Minh City this afternoon for burial. Leaders from countries such as China and Mongolia have recently turned to the Vietnamese side to express their condolences to the Vietnamese government and people.
